The Opportunity

Welcome to the Finance Team!

We believe that the Woolworths Finance team is a high performing, innovative and diverse team across Australia and New Zealand, and is an amazing place to advance your career.

Our teams work in a flexible work environment, including working from home 2 days per week, multiple on-site locations, job sharing and part-time working arrangements. We are committed to flexibility and believe that it should be mutually beneficial.

We understand flexibility means different things to different people. Let's discuss, what does flexibility look like for you?

Join the accomplished Group Treasury team at Woolworths in this full-time role based in Norwest, Sydney. This is a hands-on opportunity where you will work collaboratively to develop and execute the funding and liquidity strategy for the Group and its business units. You will gain broad exposure across the business, engaging meaningfully with internal stakeholders and externally with relationship banks, all while enjoying our flexible team working arrangements.

What you’ll do

Strategic Funding & Execution You will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial future by contributing to the Woolworths Group’s annual funding plan and assisting in the execution of key funding transactions. This includes working on debt capital markets, syndicated and bilateral loans, and guarantee facilities, as well as navigating the associated due diligence processes. Your analytical skills will shine as you perform detailed financial analysis—including NPV and contract reviews—and model various funding scenarios to assess their financial impacts. Additionally, you will contribute to pricing negotiations for new and existing banking facilities.

Stakeholder Partnership & Reporting Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with the Group Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer to nurture and manage day-to-day relationships with our banking partners and debt investors. Internally, you will support our subsidiaries in managing their debt maturities and executing additional funding facilities as needed. You will also help translate complex data into clear insights by contributing to Board papers and monthly reporting related to funding and liquidity.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement Maintaining the integrity of our financial operations is crucial. You will take primary responsibility for maintaining funding documentation, monitoring compliance with debt terms, and ensuring alignment with all Treasury Policy metrics. Beyond your day-to-day responsibilities—which include reviewing Treasury Operations cash management and foreign exchange transactions and EPN execution —you will bring a mindset of continuous improvement. We welcome your contributions to group initiatives such as process enhancements, system implementations, and fostering a performance-oriented, value-adding culture within the team.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for learning and a strategic approach to problem-solving. With relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field, you bring solid corporate experience (ideally 3-5 years) ideally in funding —preferably within an ASX-listed company. Your background should include hands-on involvement with transaction execution and an understanding of continuous disclosure obligations.

You are a natural collaborator with a proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders—from senior management to external service providers—and can confidently support decision-making in a dynamic, rapidly evolving business environment. Armed with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, you possess strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Above all, you keep an open mind, constantly looking for ways to turn insights into action and drive process efficiencies, whether through AI, automation, or innovative thinking.

What you’ll experience

  • Hybrid Flexibility: Blend in-office engagement with work-from-home opportunities for a balanced work week.
  • A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
  • Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers plus paid superannuation for up to 12 months while the Team Member is on parental leave - eligible from the first day of employment
