About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
As the Lead for Network Strategy & Solutions, you will be the primary architect of Woolworths NZ’s future supply chain landscape. You will spearhead the development of complex infrastructure strategies, modeling financial options and operating designs that align with wider commercial objectives. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our distribution network, ensuring our supply chain remains a competitive enabler for the entire business.
- Lead the end-to-end development of network strategies and solutions, integrating inputs from DC design, automation, property, and transport to ensure a cohesive infrastructure roadmap.
- Execute the creation of high-quality business cases and board submissions, detailing budget scope, cost-benefit analysis, and risk mitigation strategies for senior executive approval.
- Collaborate with Merchandise and Replenishment teams to identify business opportunities and determine how current or future supply chain capabilities can enable commercial growth.
- Drive process optimization initiatives and innovation to enhance the productivity of distribution center operations and overall network efficiency.
- Manage the transition of chilled and ambient Direct-to-Store (DSD) lines into the DC network, aligning logistical requirements with long-term strategic goals.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders in Legal, Procurement, and Finance to ensure all infrastructure projects comply with assurance frameworks and deliver intended benefits.
About You | Mōu
- Extensive proven success in supply chain, logistics, or network infrastructure, with a track record of leading large-scale transformation projects.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, business case development, and data-driven storytelling to influence senior stakeholder decisions.
- A deep understanding of DC design, automation, IT systems, and property development requirements within a large-scale retail or FMCG environment.
- Exceptional ability to negotiate and influence at the executive level, maintaining alignment across diverse internal functions and external consultants.
- Strong data analytical knowledge with the ability to focus on granular details while maintaining a clear view of the "big picture" strategic objectives.
- A degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics is highly regarded, complemented by project management or postgraduate qualifications.
