What you’ll do | Hei mahi

The role is responsible for owning, creating and maintaining clear guidelines and processes for consistent pricing, cash, payroll related activities that are in line with Woolworth Groups practices, policies and NZ legislation. This will be achieved by leading the provision of clear guidance and coaching to our store and support office teams as it relates to the end to end processes for pricing, payroll and cash compliance. This role is the operational Subject Matter Expertise (SME), for this space, driving relevant strategic planning, projects, and BAU compliance related initiatives. 


This role will represent WWNZ as the SME and decision maker in all enablement forums relating to the areas of responsibility outlined above, including being the conduit to Group, and the voice of stores, educating, advocating for and supporting the implementation of initiatives that simplify processes and ensure ongoing compliance.


Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Lead or support business change projects relating to store compliance regarding pricing integrity, payroll & cash as required eg CUP, Regional Pricing,Trading Week change, end-to-end payroll, cash management in stores etc.

  • Represent Operations Support as a member on relevant forums and working groups eg Group forums, PI Lead Team, Compliance forums, being the key decision maker at these forums.

  • Oversee in-store price integrity, payroll and cash compliance related processes including to identify, design and implement process improvement to mitigate key risks associated with the end to end process. Manage the implementation of cross functional pricing integrity initiatives across the ecosystem.

  • Own operational activities and analytics dashboards relating to pricing including: PI reporting and comms to stores, Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) escalations, maintaining and communicating PI operational metrics etc.

  • Ensuring Store Operations Processes and Systems are meeting company policies and legislation.

  • Lead or support P1 and P2 pricing incidents impacting stores 

  • Be the SME on cash compliance for stores, partnering with Group and Tech to provide support and guidance as required and connecting the team to relevant support channels eg One POS, SCO, Glory.


What you’ll bring | Hei koha

A core component of this role will be to have a strong team enablement focus, listening to store teams and supporting successful change management, the result of which means change is simple for stores to understand and delivered in a way that ensures a positive experience for store teams. 


You’ll bring in:

  • 5+ years experience in an FMCG/Retail environment.

  • Background in store services related areas including, payroll operations, cash, compliance & governance.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of in-store processes and procedures

  • Naturally curious with a warm and engaging leadership style.

  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, supported by experience in leading teams.

  • Experience in operating and reviewing controls.

  • High level of analytical skills and proficiency working with large sets of data, maintaining data integrity.

  • Experience in a fast-paced organisation, navigating change, and adapting quickly.
