The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team at W Digital. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and improving our complex customer data platfor. You will be a technical leader, guiding your team through challenging projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and development of complex data warehouse systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical best practices.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers on the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the primary squad and across those squads who operate up and down stream.

  • Proactively identify and address technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions and driving their implementation.

  • Advocate for progress towards the target state architecture for the Domain, with a particular focus on resilience, flexibility, security, scalability and cost effectiveness.

  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, architects and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional digital experiences.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to leverage them for continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our engineering practices, championing quality, efficiency, and scalability.

What You’ll Bring

5+ years' experience as a Senior Data Engineer/Technical Lead with proficiency in Build scalable data models and databases to support applications, analytics, and reporting. Strong foundation in data design principles and best practices.

  • Proven experience leading technical projects and guiding engineering teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • In-depth experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP), GCP preferred.

  • In-depth experience with a container management platform (Kubernetes, CloudRun, ECS).

  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).

  • Retail/e-commerce domain experience preferred, but other domains with suitable technical experience considered.

  • 5-10 years' experience in architecture, designing the data model, and implementing the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process,.

  • Dashboard design, BI Analytic and Agentic AI advantageous.
