The Opportunity
As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery. Your primary focus will be bringing concepts to life; you will take ambiguous business problems and turn them into prioritised, outcome-focused delivery plans; developing "Proofs of Concept" (PoCs), writing code, and leveraging modern tools to deliver tangible value to the Finance team.
What you’ll do
- Stakeholder Partnering: Collaborate closely with Finance teams to identify operational pain points and translate complex business needs into clear, measurable outcomes.
- Solution Design: Bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution by defining success criteria and high-quality project documentation.
- Rapid Prototyping: Develop "Proofs of Concept" (POCs) to test hypotheses and demonstrate value quickly before moving to full-scale deployment.
- Technical Execution: Build robust solutions using SQL, Python, and Visualisation tools, supporting Data Engineering and Data Science workstreams.
- Tool Optimisation: Evaluate and select the most effective tools for the task, ranging from automated scripts and dashboards to advanced AI workflows.
- User Validation: Lead business testing and sign-off processes to ensure all technical solutions are trusted, understood, and fit for purpose.
What you’ll bring
- Proven Track Record: Experience in a Business Analyst or Technical Product role, specifically within data, analytics, or platform-focused teams.
- Stakeholder Translation: Ability to bridge the gap between non-technical stakeholders and technical delivery teams, turning ambiguous pain points into delivery-ready requirements.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: A structured approach to troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to engineer effective, business-led solutions.
- Domain Expertise: A background in Finance, Commercial Analytics, or Operations, with the ability to navigate complex financial data environments.
- Technical Literacy: Hands-on exposure to modern analytics platforms such as BigQuery, Looker, Tableau, or Connected Sheets.
- Collaborative Delivery: Experience working alongside Data or Analytics Engineering teams to drive product rollouts and increase data adoption across the business.
What you’ll experience
- Hybrid Flexibility: Blend in-office engagement with work-from-home opportunities for a balanced work week.
- A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
- Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
- 12 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers plus paid superannuation for up to 12 months while the Team Member is on parental leave - eligible from the first day of employment
