The Opportunity
As the Senior Injury Care Partner, your focus will be to champion the InjuryCare mission of placing team member experience and care at the heart of everything we do, providing compassionate, personalised support to enable effective recovery and return to work for injured team members. This role blends hands-on case management and leadership, ensuring seamless service delivery and continuous improvement across Woolworths Group.
What you’ll do
- Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Injury Care Partners, fostering a collaborative culture and driving excellence in rehabilitation and return-to-work strategies.
- Strategic Contribution: Act as a key stakeholder in shaping the InjuryCare roadmap, analysing data trends to champion continuous process improvements and consistent service delivery.
- Complex Case Management: Manage a small portfolio of complex injury claims, providing technical expertise and hands-on guidance to achieve optimal recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Build and maintain influential relationships with business leaders, healthcare providers, and Third-Party Administrators (TPA) to ensure proactive communication and service alignment.
- Compliance & Performance Monitoring: Oversee team performance against key metrics, ensuring strict adherence to legislative requirements, self-insurance obligations, and internal audit standards.
- Technical Advisory: Provide expert advice and intervention strategies to operational teams, resolving barriers in injury management and ensuring best-practice workers' compensation compliance.
What you’ll bring
- Industry Expertise: Minimum 5 years of end-to-end workers’ compensation and injury management experience, specifically within the QLD jurisdiction.
- Legislative Knowledge: Deep understanding of QLD workers’ compensation legislation and regulations, with a strong preference for self-insurance regime experience.
- Strategic Case Management: Proven ability to manage a diverse claims portfolio using a "strategic toolkit" to progress complex cases and achieve return-to-work outcomes.
- Clinical Literacy: Ability to interpret medical documentation and engage effectively with health professionals; Allied Health qualifications (OT, EP, Physio) are highly regarded.
- Stakeholder Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and adapt communication styles for various audiences and stakeholders.
- Critical Decision-Making: Demonstrated experience as a strategic thinker who can analyse workplace and medical data to make sound, timely decisions.
- Leadership experience - Demonstrated experience leading a team in a complex and fast paced environment.
