The Opportunity
Wpay is Australia’s largest non-bank B2B payments provider. You’ll be working with Australia’s largest retail operations - both online and in-store, along with pushing the innovation boundaries with marketplaces and the subscription and gig economy businesses.
What you’ll do
- Financial Reporting & Transformation: Lead and maintain the financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow) for Wpay, driving the transformation of reporting to better reflect a dynamic payments business.
- Month-End & Statutory Compliance: Manage the month-end close process for Wpay and oversee statutory reporting requirements for Wpay NZ.
- Cost Optimisation & Management: Support CODB and Capex management, optimising overheads and support costs to deliver meaningful payment cost savings across the Woolworths Group.
- Cross-Functional Stakeholder Partnership: Partner closely with Wpay Product and Technology teams, Woolworths Group finance, and Financial Shared Services to drive collaborative success.
- Commercial Insights & Business Growth: Deliver value-add insights through business reviews to define how teams view financial impacts, driving performance and continuous improvement.
- Agile Ways of Working: Promote a growth mindset and agile, disciplined ways of working to optimise end-to-end finance effectiveness, streamline processes, and ensure timely project delivery.
What you’ll bring
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including professional qualifications: CA/CPA .
- Commercial & Strategic Acumen: Proven ability to think end-to-end, align financial strategy with broader business objectives, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Data & Financial Modeling: Strong data analysis and modeling skills, with a track record of analysing high volumes of complex data to deliver simple, actionable insights.
- Systems Expertise: Advanced systems experience, specifically with SAP and Excel; familiarity with GCP, AFO, WBI, and Google Applications is highly advantageous.
- Stakeholder Communication & Storyboarding: Exceptional presentation and storyboarding skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to a broad audience.
- Problem Solving & Resourcefulness: Highly analytical, proactive, and creative problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset and the resilience to perform under pressure.
