Based at Woolworths’ Head Office, in Favona, this role will see you proactively support a culture of Safety, Health and Wellbeing excellence to achieve continuous SHW improvement across Woolworths New Zealand. You will use your industry expertise to support the delivery of practical solutions and ensure change management, from daily shifts to automation changes,protect the physical and psychological safety of our team. What you'll do | Hei mahi
- Support the creation and implementation of legislative-compliant Safety, Health, and Wellbeing(SHW) Processes and systems that align with Woolworths Group’s strategic objectives.
- Risk Management & Assessment: Lead comprehensive risk assessments and research to identify, control, and continually manage workplace hazards, particularly during periods of business change or automation.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Partner with and influence leaders, from Store Managers to contractors—to embed SHW strategies into end-to-end business operations.
- Capability Building: Drive safety maturity by coaching and mentoring leadership teams, facilitating training programs to enhance proactive risk management competency.
- Continuous Improvement: Manage critical risk areas and collaboratively develop injury prevention initiatives to foster a culture of behavioral safety and operational excellence.
- Assurance & Compliance: Support the Operational Safety Business Partners to execute assurance activities and business improvement projects, including the integration of new technologies like generative AI.

- This is an exciting opportunity for an early career SHW Partner to build on their experience in a strong team and an established business. To be successful in this role, your experience will likely reflect:
- Professional Expertise: Proven background in Safety, Health, and Wellbeing, supported by an H&S Diploma or relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and build strong relationships with team members at all levels of the business.
- Incident Investigation: Experience conducting detailed incident investigations and root cause analysis to deliver actionable corrective reports.
- Training & Communication: Skilled at presenting and facilitating SHW training, ensuring complex technical information is understood by both internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: A logical and creative thinker with the ability to solve complex safety challenges and implement innovative, business-wide solutions.
- Administrative Rigor: Strong document and version control skills, maintaining a highly organized and focused approach to safety management systems.
