What you’ll do | Hei mahi

As a Refit Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the overnight execution of our store refit program. You will ensure an effective, safe, and engaging refit preparation and relay transition throughout our stores, keeping projects running efficiently, safely, and in close alignment with all internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight & Coordination: Supervise and facilitate daily activities on-site, coordinating the overnight team to complete tasks on schedule.

  • Quality Control: Inspect ongoing and completed refit work to ensure it meets strict Woolworths standards and stakeholder expectations.

  • Budget & Timeline Management: Monitor project milestones, track labour hours, and proactively manage delays to prevent budget overruns.

  • Stakeholder & Change Management: Act as the primary overnight point of contact for store and renewal managers, delivering regular progress updates and smoothly managing real-time adjustments.

  • Safety & Compliance: Actively role model and enforce strict OH&S policies, ensuring the workspace remains free of hazards for all teams and contractors.

You are an organised, proactive, and resilient leader who thrives in dynamic environments. You have excellent communication and coaching skills and are comfortable leading hands-on supermarket transition activities overnight.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Retail Supermarket Experience: Solid operational understanding of supermarket environments.

  • Technical Retail Skills: Practical knowledge and experience implementing planograms (POG) and Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL).

  • Organisational Excellence: Proven planning and task coordination skills to keep projects on a tight timeline.

  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Ability to guide, mentor, and build capability in overnight teams and contractors.

  • Schedule & Travel Flexibility: Fully comfortable working consistent night shifts (9:00 PM to 6:30 AM) and travelling across the store network as refit projects move.

  • Desirable: Previous experience in construction, refurbishment, or commercial fit-outs.
