What you’ll do

• Oversee store delivery execution to all rail-serviced stores from Mackay through to Cairns.
• Partner with Woolworths DC operations, 3PL Rail service provider, Stores and PC+ Operations team to coordinate daily tasks and to optimise operational efficiencies.
• Manage 3PL performance relationships with the Rail provider and PUD Carrier, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and KPIs. 
• Manage rail transport operations within budget to provide ongoing service to stores, while meeting cost targets.
• Actively drive a high-standard safety culture, managing immediate incident reporting and strict adherence to Chain of Responsibility (COR) and OH&S legislation.  
• Lead and mentor a team of 8 direct reports, ensuring multiskilling and development and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience in managing transport operations & 3PL carriers performance, ideally within a large FMCG / Retail environment
• Demonstrated personal “hands-on” leadership and coaching skills
• A high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent negotiation & influencing skills at all levels
• Commercial acumen & experience in managing operational budgets
• Proven capability to effectively manage multiple tasks and operate in a fast moving and challenging environment with competing priorities 
• Flexibility to be available for out-of-hours escalations including weekends
