Welcome to the Property Team
The Woolworths Property group is accountable for all property undertakings for the organisation. It exists to provide comprehensive proactive property solutions to support Woolworths Retail businesses and their future growth.


The Opportunity
Reporting to a Senior Property Portfolio Manager within the State Team you will assist in strategically growing the trading supermarket business through the delivery of new stores and optimisation of existing network together with supporting the retail operations team through effective and professional property management duties.


What you’ll do

  • Negotiation of lease variations for Store refurbishments and eCom projects with co-investment from our Landlords.
  • Preparing and documenting clear and concise business cases with accurate financial modeling, having also explored alternatives/sensitivities.
  • Regular site visits to undertake Leasehold Portfolio Management - monitor and ensure Landlord obligations under leases are being met with regard to repair & maintenance and protection of trading amenity.
  • Develop strategies for amenity improvement and Sustainability improvements with a focus on car parking for customers including negotiating for shade sails to be installed.
  • Maintain and grow key relationships with Centre Managers and our Landlords whilst negotiating the best commercial outcome for the business when dealing with external stakeholders.
  • Assist Senior Property Portfolio Manager in the implementation of Property Plan documenting the strategy for New store opportunities, refurbishments, extensions and closures.


What you’ll bring

  • Established authentic customer-centric focus and passion to improve the patronage of our businesses
  • Degree qualified in Property, Business, Commerce or related disciplines
  • Commercial experience and knowledge of the property market across retail management and retail development including an understanding of the issues that exist for both Landlords and Tenants
  • Business, planning and financial skills.
  • Exposure to the retail management and development environment.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills to achieve results and productive relations
