What you’ll do
The Price & Promo manager for Play, Clothing & Home develops & oversees the pricing & promotional strategies across a $3bn+ portfolio of categories within Big W, with a true business partnership approach. The role requires a deep understanding of competitor pricing activity and uses data-driven insights to understand competitor strategies, ensure trusted prices for customers, and support the implementation of pricing strategies across the business. Additionally, this role will contribute to the company's data-led ambition by improving data insights and automation while enhancing promotional effectiveness.
Lead the development and implementation of pricing strategies across Home, Play & Clothing by understanding competitor pricing activity, using data-driven insights and collaborating across the business
Partner closely with business leads to support trade targets, ensure promotional critical paths are maintained whilst also providing recommendations to improve profitability.
Ensure trusted prices for customers through close-to-real-time insights and competitor strategy analysis
Contribute to strategy and data-led ambition by enhancing & automating data insights and improving range health
Enhance promotional effectiveness by providing insights into performance, challenging funding strategies, and improving planning processes
Lead pricing intelligence capability and develop a deep understanding of competitor pricing strategies, whilst improving pricing indexes and product matching accuracy.
Review customer plan / upcoming promotions & offer suggestions / improvements to improve promotional effectiveness.
Improve promotional planning process by providing consistent insights at the point of promotional slotting
Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, reporting, and insight generation.
Develop influencing and leadership skills to build trusted relationships within Big W
What you’ll bring
3-6 year Commercial experience in Consulting and / or in Retail in a line (Buying, Pricing, Replen Planning) or analyst role
Business Transformation experience is desirable
Strong Analytical & Presentation skills
Proficiency Microsoft Office (Excel & PPT)
