We are Woolworths Group

We are Woolworths Group. 200,000+ bright minds, passionate hearts and unique perspectives connected by a shared Purpose – ‘to create better experiences together for a better tomorrow.’ It’s that Purpose that fuels our ambition to explore new ideas, make brave commitments and innovate better ways to meet the food and everyday needs of more than 24 million customers every week.

If you’re excited to turn today’s blue sky thinking into a better tomorrow for future generations, you’ll find yourself supported and enriched in a dynamic, inclusive and empowering workplace that reflects the diverse communities we serve. With a culture of genuine care, a flexible approach to work and opportunities across the group to grow your career and make a meaningful impact, the possibilities for what we can achieve together are endless.

The Opportunity

As an experienced leader of technology product teams, you will ensure there is a clearly defined technology product strategy and roadmap for the Sub-Domain you represent, which will enable Business Units across the group to achieve their objectives and create the value propositions that underpin their strategy.  A key part of this will be achieving target levels of commonality in enabling technologies, and ensuring there is a force-ranked set of priorities and agreed delivery expectations with our business partners from across the Group that will maximise business value.

You will ensure that the priorities clearly articulate the target outcomes our business partners are seeking and that the requirements support the creation of effective solution designs and user stories.  Your team will ensure these requirements are translated to the artefacts that meet the team’s “Definition of Ready”.  While helping our business partners determine the best way of shaping and prioritising the work for value, you will also ensure that the key non-functional aspects of the work are embedded in the delivery plans.  You will be a highly effective stakeholder manager, who can facilitate iterative discussions on priorities, scope and delivery approach to ensure W Digital provides maximum value for the businesses we enable, and that we do so in a sustainable way.

What you’ll do

  • Guide, mentor, and inspire a team of Technical BA’s, fostering a culture of collaboration, user-centricity, data-driven decision-making, and a shared passion for delivering exceptional technology and business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Tribe Leader, Product Managers and engineering team to define and implement a compelling technology product roadmap
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and other cross-functional teams to shape the technology strategy and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality technology products and features
  • Encourage your team to test hypotheses, gather data, and iterate on solutions based on learnings. Champion the use of data and insights to inform technology strategy, prioritisation, and measure the success of technology product changes.
  • Where relevant, define, measure, and improve key technology product metrics.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, whilst driving technology product strategy and successful outcomes in dynamic environments.
  • Strong understanding of "well-architected" software, lifecycle management, and the ability to guide technical teams and advocate for common solutions.
  • Passionate about understanding business needs, translating them into innovative solutions, and bridging business and technology strategies for effective trade-off decisions.
  • Monitoring technology trends to bring thought leadership and insights to business partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey vision and strategy, combined with strong analytical and data-driven decision-making.

What you’ll experience

  • Hybrid Flexibility: Blend in-office engagement with work-from-home opportunities for a balanced work week.
  • A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
  • Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers plus paid superannuation for up to 12 months while the Team Member is on parental leave - eligible from the first day of employment
