What you’ll do

In this role you will be a key contributor to the Brand PR team in the Group Public Affairs Communications and Sustainability (GPACS) Newsroom team, responsible for external messaging for Woolworths Group brands through earned media and strategic influencer engagement. Your ultimate purpose is to ensure our communications activities align with and help deliver against the Group’s business unit strategies.

  • Execute end-to-end Brand PR and communication plans, covering tactics such as media relations, influencer engagement, press events, and gifting programs.

  • Actively engage with journalists and online influencers on Brand PR campaigns to secure positive media coverage and earned content for Woolworths Group brands.

  • Manage Woolworths’ gifting programs, including developing media and influencer kits and distribution.

  • Develop high-quality communication materials, including media releases, key messages, and spokesperson briefing notes.

  • Manage paid influencer programs as required, from developing briefs and reviewing content to working in partnership with paid media teams.

  • Monitor the media, stakeholder, and regulatory landscape to identify emerging opportunities and risks, providing timely internal updates and media reporting.

What you’ll bring

We are seeking a highly proactive and influential communicator ready to champion Woolworths Group brands. You are a relationship-focused professional capable of executing effective campaigns in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Proven impact in executing comprehensive PR and media strategies, specifically for consumer-facing brands.

  • Strong capability in building and maintaining productive relationships with journalists and online influencers in the consumer or retail sector.

  • Deep understanding and practical application of the Australian media landscape, including traditional, digital, and social media channels.

  • Experience managing paid influencer and product gifting programs.

  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to create high-quality material for external audiences while responding promptly to media inquiries.

  • Experience utilising media monitoring tools and digital analytics platforms to inform PR strategies and demonstrate returns on investment.

What you’ll experience

We embrace diversity of thought and love to take on challenges with a pragmatic and innovative approach. Our culture thrives on mutual respect, care, curiosity, openness, and a proactive attitude. We continually seek ways to pair, collaborate, support, and learn from each other as a team!

  • A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network

  • Commitment to flexibility through a hybrid working model which combines time spent at a support office or hub and time working from home, supporting both in-person connection and balancing the flexibility that remote working provides for our teams

  • A progressive and competitive leave policy that gives you more space for what matters to you, including but not limited to Study Leave and Sports Representation Leave

  • Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work
