Provide Safety in Design support on projects across our distribution, supply chain, logistics, and ecommerce operations businesses
Partner with your safety peers, operational leadership, Design and Project management teams on safety projects uplifting the safety and wellbeing for our teams
A 14-month fixed-term contract, available from Sydney (preference), Brisbane or Melbourne with regular interstate travel included

What you'll do
As the National Project Safety Manager for Primary Connect, you will advocate for safety excellence across Primary Connect’s evolving network! You’ll partner with the Design & Network Development team and Operational teams to integrate safety into every project.
By navigating complex legislation and internal standards, you will safeguard our people and keep our operations ahead of the curve. Your data-driven insights and fresh approach to risk management will enable continuous innovation and future-proof our facilities.
Lead the safety design and delivery of new builds and improvement projects, focusing on Primary Connect and e-commerce fulfillment.
Identify opportunities in our automated and manual Distribution Centres to future-proof our facilities and streamline daily operations.
Collaborate closely with Risk and Safety, Property & Design, Facilities & Maintenance, and Operational Leadership to meet gold-standard safety requirements (please note, interstate travel will be required as part of this)
Champion the implementation of Safety in Design (SiD) and quantitative risk assessments to proactively mitigate hazards during the design and construction phases.
Benchmark and integrate emerging technologies and innovative work practices to enhance safety outcomes and operational efficiency across the supply chain.
What you'll bring
Strong experience in a senior engineering or safety in design role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality programs and initiatives across large-scale, multi-site operations.
Technical expertise in contemporary safety legislation and material risk management, ideally with a background in automation, warehousing, road transport/logistics, or complex plant and equipment.
A strategic and commercial mindset that allows you to translate complex data into meaningful recommendations, influencing stakeholders from the front line to the Executive team to drive gold-standard outcomes.
Agility and personal effectiveness to thrive in a fast-paced, matrix environment
Qualification in Engineering or a related field (Bachelor degree preferred)
