What you’ll do
The Network Planning Specialist is a key position within Woolworths' multi-channel meat division, which spans the entire supply chain. This division leverages deep industry knowledge and advanced analytics to ensure a sustainable, high-quality supply of beef, lamb, and pork for all Woolworths sales channels, including retail, food services, wholesale, and international.
This role is primarily responsible for leading the raw material supply planning across various demand channels. Success requires close collaboration with planning teams at our secondary (case-ready) manufacturing sites, supermarket replenishment teams, commercial/category management, and the procurement/export teams to effectively manage the raw material supply.
Drive raw material fulfillment across all channels to ensure target service levels are consistently achieved.
Own the weekly abattoir supply plans (MakeSheets) to maximise carcass utilisation and raw material allocation across the three Hilton Foods case-ready facilities.
Collaborate with Procurement Specialists to manage contracted supplementary raw material allocations to the three Hilton Foods case-ready facilities; evaluate and action spot-purchasing requirements to maintain seamless service levels.
Continuously optimise the total cost-to-serve while effectively managing inventory levels and processing restrictions. Safeguard the network against disruptions through the proactive review and adjustment of supply plans.
Own master data management within the Quintiq planning system. This includes managing data for NPDs/EPDs, onboarding new abattoirs, and driving system enhancements to support evolving business requirements.
Utilise technical expertise to identify, develop, and deploy process and system enhancements that meet evolving business needs.
What you’ll bring
This position demands a unique blend of technical proficiency and interpersonal influence. To be successful, you will demonstrate high competence in data management and analysis, alongside the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the E2E Meat network, the broader Woolworths ecosystem and external partners.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Food Science, or a related field.
5–10 years of experience in supply chain operations and planning. Experience in temperature-controlled FMCG is preferred, with high-velocity, short-shelf-life product or meat industry experience highly desired.
Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence stakeholders across a complex network.
Deep understanding of demand and supply synchronisation principles within an end-to-end (E2E) framework.
Proven expertise in planning systems, including master data management and system configuration. You must demonstrate the ability to operate planning tools efficiently and proactively identify process improvements. Experience with Quintiq is highly regarded.
