We are seeking a highly motivated individual that we can train to be the National ULD Operations Manager to lead the end-to-end operations of our Unit Load Device (ULD) function - all pallets, crates, and associated load devices that keep our goods moving from supplier to store.

What you’ll do


  • Oversee day-to-day operations for all pooled and internal ULD assets (excess of 70million), driving optimisation of ULD flows, minimising loss/damage, and controlling associated costs.
  • Drive positive change by leading the transformation of our ULD operations. You will play a key role in inspiring site-based and national support teams to adopt efficient and effective ULD management practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within a geographically dispersed team (approximately 28 team work together to deliver on this function)
  • Lead the negotiation and management of multi-million contracts with key suppliers (CHEP, LOSCAM, VPS and Ozkor as main suppliers) with the support of the Woolworths legal team.
  • Actively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across Primary Connect, Woolworths Supermarkets, BIG W, and other areas, playing a vital role in developing and implementing national ULD strategy.
  • Regularly visit our Distribution Centres


What you’ll bring


  • Experience in asset management, supply chain logistics, or network operations 
  • Experience leading and energising large, geographically dispersed operational teams.  
  • A track record of embedding changes and navigating complex projects with real finesse.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills and experience managing complex business implementations.   
  • A passion for data – you know how to make numbers talk and drive results.
  • A high level of enthusiasm & drive for making things better, faster, and more cost-efficient.
