Welcome to the Property Team 

Woolworths Property is accountable for all property undertakings of the Woolworths Group and provides comprehensive, proactive property solutions to support the existing retail businesses and their future growth.

The Asset Management function is part of the Woolworths Property team and is responsible for the management, leasing, lease administration and disposal of the property assets owned or controlled by Woolworths. 

The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to provide professional and proactive management of Woolworths Property lease agreements and other relevant documents associated with our Development Projects, Shopping Centres and General Properties. 

Reporting to the National Asset Manager, this role will also provide support to the National Project Leasing Manager and Asset Manager. It will also foster close working relationships with Asset Management, Property Development, Corporate Legal and other support areas of the business.

What you’ll do

  • Standardised Documentation & Compliance: Develop, maintain, and ensure legal compliance of all standardised leasing documents, engaging external legal firms as needed.
  • End-to-End Lease Deal Execution: Manage the entire lifecycle of lease documentation, from drafting offers and disclosure statements to issuing instructions, reviewing legal drafts, negotiating terms, and ensuring full execution and payment of recoverable costs.
  • Post-Execution Document Management: Oversee the collection, review, distribution, and proper filing of all executed lease documentation, including tracking lease registrations for audit compliance.
  • Lease Event Management: Evaluate and process lease renewals, assignments, and surrenders, including reviewing recommendations, drafting proposals, and managing associated documentation.
  • Comprehensive Leasing Reporting: Prepare and maintain various leasing reports, including status updates for new developments, vacancy reports for existing assets, and lease renewal tracking.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Regularly review and enhance lease administration systems and processes for the entire corporate property portfolio.

What you’ll bring

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Lease Administration for a major landlord or retailer, or as a paralegal within a legal firm with a passion for the retail property industry.
  • A property related or legal tertiary qualification would be seen as beneficial.
  • Excels at time management, planning, problem-solving, and managing multiple projects with keen attention to detail.
  • Possesses excellent communication, influencing, negotiating, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of business principles and a commitment to hard work.
  • Capable of working effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
