The Investigations & Protections Lead  sits as a part of the Customer Experience & Services Team. 


The Investigations & Protection Lead is responsible for leading and managing investigations into potential threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents that could impact the WWNZ people, assets, and reputation. 

This role will review new advances in technology to review options to introduce into Woolworths stores.


This role involves leading a team and supporting conducting thorough investigations, implementing protective measures, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure a safe and secure environment. This role will work closely with our security guard partners and will have a strong connection with the safety team and group AOVA squad.


The responsibilities includes:

  • Lead a team and conduct investigations into a wide range of incidents, including security breaches, fraud, theft, misconduct, workplace violence, and other potential threats.

  • Develop and implement security protocols and procedures to protect the organization's employees, assets, and information.

  • Identify and assess potential risks to the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding investigations, security incidents, and risk management initiatives.

  • Lead the Central investigations, People and Assets protection teams to deliver the plan for the store in the key areas listed above.

  • Accountability of leading, developing and coaching 3 direct reports

  • Review of technology opportunities.


What you’ll bring | Hei koha

You’ll have a strong investigative background, excellent analytical and communication skills, a deep understanding of security protocols and risk management principles and a background of leading teams.


To be successful, you’ll bring in:

  • Strong investigative background, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a deep understanding of security protocols and risk management principles.

  • Proficient in knowledge/experience with Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in investigations, security, or law enforcement.

  • Strong understanding of investigative techniques, security protocols, and risk management principles.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with physical security systems and technologies is a plus.
