Welcome to the Procurement Team 

The Woolworths Group Procurement team is a pivotal function, deeply integrated into the strategic and capital expenditure of Australia’s largest retailer.

We manage billions in essential spend, covering everything from major Construction and Equipment to critical Services like Energy, Waste and Security.

The Opportunity

Unleash your potential as the Head of Procurement - Construction, Equipment and Services, a pivotal, high-impact role within the Group Procurement team, reporting to the General Manager - Category Management. 

You will seize the reins of an exceptional team of professionals responsible for the end to end strategy and management of a vast, critical master portfolio that influences an annual spend of approximately $2.5 billion. This portfolio encompasses all major capital expenditure including Construction (fit-outs, fixtures and engineering), core operational spend for Equipment (facilities management, production gear), and strategic Services (Energy, Waste, Security, etc.). This role empowers you to drive visionary strategies, spearhead large scale projects and as a member of the Procurement Leadership Team, play a key role in our Procurement Transformation by embracing AI to deliver unparalleled value across the Woolworths' operations.


What you'll do 

  • Lead End to End Sourcing Strategies: : Enthusiastically own and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for Construction, Equipment and related Services, leveraging the Category Management Framework.
  • Drive Value & Achieve OKRs: Deliver and exceed organisational key results (OKRs), skyrocketing value across the $2.5 billion Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) spend portfolio.
  • Champion Best Practice & Compliance: Drive continuous improvement, challenge existing practices and ensure uncompromising compliance with all procurement policies and regulations.
  • Inspire & Develop the Team: Act as an inspiring leader, articulating a compelling vision and cultivating a growth environment for a high performing team.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Forge meaningful relationships with diverse internal stakeholders and proactively manage external supplier relationships to deliver superior commercial outcomes.
  • Innovate, Manage Risk, & Sustain: Actively scan the global landscape for innovative solutions, embed diligent risk management and ensure conscious Sustainability is balanced with economic goals.


What you’ll bring 

  • Senior Leadership Track Record: Proven experience in a similar senior procurement or commercial leadership role, managing a multi million dollar spend portfolio.
  • Category Expertise: Extensive experience across the full Procurement lifecycle (including contracting) for Construction, Equipment, and Services categories.
  • Strategic Visionary: A remarkable talent for transforming complex category insights into powerful, actionable strategies and ensuring precise execution.
  • Transformational Team Leader: Demonstrated ability to ignite passion, guide with precision and develop team members, cultivating a high performing and compliant environment.
  • Expert Influencer: Proven ability to connect, collaborate and inspire diverse stakeholders, bringing them on a journey of shared success to achieve commercial goals.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration (or a relevant field) or equivalent industry experience.
