The Opportunity
Our Group Manager position is pivotal in coaching teams through change and to support and lead our store teams to success. Partnering with various stakeholders, the Group Manager is accountable for leading a team of Store Managers to meet key objectives and embed our purpose, values and ways of working to ensure teams deliver on customers needs and find new ways to help customers find value and feel valued!
You will provide support to the zone and state teams to deliver the strategy by coaching and motivating a team of Store Managers and over 1000 team members. You will be an integral part of implementing the group strategy and using key levers to achieve sustainable results to create better experiences for a better tomorrow.
What you will do
As the Group Manager you'll support Group 323, covering Smithton, Devonport, Legana, Wynyard, Ulverstone, Scottsdale, Mount Street, George Town, Deloraine & Port Sorell, with two new exciting stores due to open in the next 12 months. Enabling the Supermarkets Strategy within your Group to ensure its successful delivery of key commercial outcomes while maintaining a team and customer first lens.
You will also:
Enhance a strong relationship with your fellow Group Managers in Zone and State where results and challenges are celebrated/solved together.
Lead with a blend of data and intuition to make sound operational decisions using key levers to achieve sustainable results and address current and emerging customer needs
Have an unwavering focus on safety by ensuring this is a top priority for team and customers through the correct following of processes
Always role model and lead with care by supporting Store Managers and their team to drive team engagement and connectedness within the Group
Lead with purpose and support your Group to engage in key community events
Navigate through change initiatives and support the store leadership team to actively enable our digital transformation
Unlock diverse skill sets within your group, creating a strong, capable sustainable talent pipeline to support group/zone/state
Set and deliver high operational standards for the Group by making data-led decisions, setting clear expectations and being at the forefront of the ever evolving customer needs/trends
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a Leader who has strength in both people and operational leadership. Bring your passion for people and team, developing and embedding a high-performance and engaging team-first culture, along with your strategic and commercial lens to transform and future proof your Group.
You will also have:
Previous retail leadership experience, multi-site exposure within a large scale or complex environment
Experience leading and embedding change and the ability to collaborate and partner across a number of different teams throughout the Group
Strong influencing skills to influence across a broad range of audiences, flexing approach to collaborate with a diverse range of audiences
An analytical mindset, balancing use of data with insight and environmental awareness, supporting your critical thinking
An ability to understand strategy and bring together large teams to achieve key business outcomes through mobilisation and prioritisation
