About the role
As the General Manager of Operations, you won't just be running a department; you will be architecting a transformation. You will take end-to-end responsibility for campaign execution the moment a contract is won—ensuring seamless delivery across in-store print, online, digital screens, radio, and more.
Leading a talented team of approximately 100 people, your mandate is not to grow headcount, but to exponentially grow capability and efficiency through technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Strategy & Transformation: Move the operations function away from analogue processes and design a scalable, future-proof media platform.
- End-to-End Campaign Execution: Oversee inventory availability, platform delivery, external printers, vendors, and the design of all in-store materials and hardware.
- Innovate with Tech & AI: Pioneer the use of automation and AI to scale content creation, execution, and delivery.
- Elevate Internal Partnerships: Digitise and modernise critical relationships with internal stakeholders, including Brand & Marketing, 360, and Primary Connect.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Sophisticate our ecosystem of external partners to ensure we are driving maximum value and agility.
What will I need
This is a role for a builder, not a caretaker. You are a senior leader who thrives when handed a blank canvas and the backing of a major enterprise engine.
- A Proven Track Record of Transformation: You have actively built and scaled new capabilities, platforms, or operating models in a complex environment. You know how to take a business out of a standard 'run state' and into a high-growth phase
- Technological & AI Fluency: You have a passion for efficiency and know how to practically apply automation, AI, and modern tech stacks to drive revenue growth and team capability.
- Inspiring Leadership: Experience leading large teams (~100 people) through change, focused on upskilling, driving efficiency, and fostering an innovative culture.
- Commercial Acumen: The ability to partner effectively with senior executives and align operational capabilities directly with aggressive commercial targets.
We are open-minded about where you have honed your craft, but you likely come from one of the following environments:
- A sophisticated, large-scale media network (e.g., Nine, News Corp) or a leading retail media business.
- A major global publishing platform within the advertising industry.
- The hands-on, digital transformation arm of a top-tier consulting firm (e.g., Accenture) working with enterprise clients.
- A high-growth, technically advanced advertising agency environment.
