What you’ll do
As the General Manager of Agency Sales, your purpose is to build and lead Cartology’s Agency sales function. You will be at the forefront of our next phase of growth, responsible for cultivating a high-performance sales culture that is both ambitious and supportive. Your primary mission is to transform a 40-person team into a proactive, "hunter-focused" team that strategically expands our footprint across the agency landscape.
Success in this role means establishing our retail out-of-home (ROOH) network as an essential channel for brands. This is achieved by forging strategic, high-level partnerships and positioning the team as indispensable advisors who are deeply invested in delivering on our clients' core brand objectives. By embedding a culture of relentless new business development, you will be instrumental in cementing Cartology's position as a tier 1 media business, powered by the unparalleled data and customer insights of the Woolworths Group.
Key accountabilities of the GM Agency position include:
Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a proactive sales strategy to grow market share, securing high-value contracts with media agencies by positioning our retail OOH network as an indispensable solution for their clients.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a 40-person sales team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, relentless client service, and consistent delivery against revenue targets.
Commercial Accountability: Assume full ownership for meeting and exceeding agency sales revenue goals, implementing rigorous sales planning, pipeline management, and insightful reporting to the executive team.
Internal Advocacy: Act as the lead advocate for the agency channel internally, collaborating with product, marketing, and operations to ensure our offering is best-in-class and aligned with agency needs.
What you’ll bring
Proven Commercial Leadership: A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in agency advertising sales or business development, with a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth.
Extensive Agency Network: An extensive and established network of senior-level relationships across major media agency holding groups.
Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in developing strategic business plans, supported by outstanding negotiation, presentation, and external/internal relationship management skills.
Communication & Cultural Adaptability: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in both fast-paced entrepreneurial and established corporate cultures.
Advanced Business Acumen: A relevant Business Degree or MBA would be a significant advantage.
