About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
As the General Manager for Woolworths FoodCo NZ, you will be the strategic architect behind a multi-year roadmap focused on product innovation, profitability, and market-leading growth. Leading a high-caliber team of product and quality experts, you’ll bridge the gap between commercial strategy and customer experience, driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure our commercial operating model delivers exceptional results. This is a high-impact leadership role for a commercially-savvy visionary ready to scale a diverse portfolio and coach the next generation of retail leaders in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and lead the 5-year growth strategy for the FoodCo portfolio to maximize sales, profit, and inventory efficiency.
- Take full ownership of the P&L, ensuring all revenue, capital, and operational expenditure targets are met or exceeded.
- Use meaningful data and trends to drive product innovation and improve customer satisfaction (NPS) across our commercial operations.
- Partner with Buying, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless trade planning and high-level vendor relationships.
- Build a high-performing, diverse team by attracting top talent and coaching the next generation of business leaders.

- Proven experience leading a large business with full accountability for profit and loss.
- Strong analytical skills to turn data into bottom-line logic and strategic insights that deliver ROI.

- A track record of attracting, developing, and leading high-performing, engaged teams.
- Experience driving innovative change and successfully steering complex teams toward a culture of high-velocity innovation
- Skilled negotiator with deep expertise in building strong, strategic supplier partnerships.
