What you’ll do:

Assist with the governance, design and configuration of new SAP Payroll solutions.  Ensure functional solutions are rooted in a deep understanding of payroll legislation, business strategy, and SAP best practices transforming complex business needs into streamlined, compliant, and scalable system processes.


Consulting with the People Team and Payroll business owners to provide expert guidance on how SAP features can solve specific business pain points. Construct requirements into holistic functional designs that consider upstream and downstream impacts.Own  complex functional logic ensuring fair work and legislative compliance. 


  • Architect: Design scalable SAP Payroll solutions that bridge complex legislation and business strategy.

  • Standardize: Enforce SAP best practices to minimize custom code and technical debt.

  • Consult: Resolve business pain points by translating needs into high-level SAP functionality.

  • Document: Author airtight functional specs and peer-review partner (TCS) solutions.

  • Compliance: Own the complex functional logic ensuring Fair Work and legal compliance.

  • Assess: Lead impact reviews for Country Legal Changes (CLCs) Support Packages, and tools like Cloud ALM, Data Sync Manager (DSM)

  • Validate: Build, unit test, and manage production releases with L2/L3 hypercare.

  • Enable: Drive change management, training, and knowledge transfers for support teams.

  • Defend: Act as the technical SME for all internal and external system audits.




What you’ll bring:

You are an experienced SAP payroll functional consultant  with knowledge of AU and NZ payroll legislation and employment standards who can  navigate and configure SAP modules without relying solely on technical manuals. You  can advise business stakeholders when standard configuration and customisation are appropriate

  • Experience: 7+ years deep-dive expertise in SAP HR/Payroll.

  • Tech Stack: Proficient in SAP Cloud Platform and end-to-end development methodologies.

  • Delivery: Proven track record across the full SAP Payroll project lifecycle.

  • Consulting: Strategic mindset—distinguishing stakeholder "wants" from actual business "needs."

  • Precision: Expert at drafting crystal-clear, concise functional specifications.

  • Analysis: Sharp analytical focus on payroll business processes and people-centric culture.
