About Woolworths Market Plus (WMP)
Join the team behind Woolworths MarketPlus (WMP), we are looking for passionate individuals to work on WMP, the innovative platform launched in October 2023. WMP is transforming our online offering by empowering third-party sellers to seamlessly list and manage products across our key marketplace businesses, including Big W, Woolworths Online (Everyday Market), and Everyday Rewards Shop. Our goal is to expand our product range, providing customers with an unparalleled "one-stop shop" experience for an extensive selection of exclusive online products.
What you'll do
We are looking for a highly motivated Full Stack Engineer who is driven by curiosity and the desire to solve hard problems. This role is focused on building and maintaining features in our .NET Core and React (SSR via Next.JS) stack.
As a mid-level engineer here, you won't just be writing code; you will be fast-tracking your career. You will be surrounded by an incredibly senior engineering team ready to mentor and coach you in advanced concepts like heavily asynchronous processing & event driven architecture, highly advanced AWS setups, observability, and picking the absolute best database for the job. While you may occasionally support a small number of older ASP.NET MVC services for modernisation, the vast majority of your work is centered on our modern, evolving platform.
Design & Build at Scale: Work closely with senior engineers and the tech lead to design, build, and evolve our serverless, event-driven systems.
Go Full Stack: Work fluidly across the back end and front end, from building REST APIs to shaping UI components and refining existing code.
Polyglot Persistence: Work with large datasets and select the right tool for the job across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MSSQL.
Collaborate & Shape: Provide technical input to translate high-level requirements from Product Managers and Business Analysts into implementable, highly observable solutions.
Solve Hard Problems: Help automate manual processes and integrate AI/LLM models to handle our highly sophisticated product import and enrichment routines.
Ensure Excellence: Review designs to ensure they meet our strict standards for performance, reliability, and scalability.
What You’ll Bring
Bringing with you a minimum of 3 years commercial development experience you will be naturally inquisitive and eager to learn whilst being proactive in your day to day duties.
Strong experience with the .NET stack, especially C#, ASP.NET Core, building REST APIs and exposure within Cloud technologies ideally with AWS
Solid front-end experience, ideally with React or similar technologies in production environments.
A strong grasp of modern software design practices, including OOP, design patterns, and dependency injection.
Comfortable working with Entity Framework Core and designing SQL databases.
The ability to explain ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
Exposure to LLM platforms, prompt engineering, machine learning model training concepts, and large datasets.
What you’ll experience
