What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for Product Data Services (PDS), you will lead a mission-critical squad of engineers and QAs. You will be the custodian of our "Source of Truth" for product data, overseeing the platforms that power our entire e-commerce ecosystem. Your role is to build and guide a team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure SaaS-style platforms.

You will act as a product-minded technical leader, partnering closely with the Platform Product Lead, Principal Engineer, Architect and Technical BAs to translate a complex data strategy into seamless user-centric features. Your leadership will balance rapid delivery with a relentless focus on technical and architectural excellence.

  • People Leadership: Manage, mentor, and coach a squad of engineers and QAs, fostering a culture of professional growth, high morale (VoT), and psychological safety.
  • Technical Strategy & SaaS Mindset: Partner with the Principal Engineer and Product Lead to define a technical roadmap that treats our data services as a scalable SaaS platform, capable of serving multiple business units across the Group.
  • PIM & DAM Excellence: Oversee the technical implementation and evolution of our PIM and Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems, ensuring robust data ingestion and seamless distribution.
  • Delivery & Value Realization: Drive the successful delivery of features through "slicing" and iterative releases, ensuring the team builds for scale, reliability, and early business value.
  • Agile Advocacy: Actively champion agile principles, ensuring "Jira hygiene," efficient sprint cadences, and a fast-paced environment of continuous delivery.
  • Operational Excellence: Champion engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, and cyber security (zero vulnerabilities). You will be accountable for the stability and cost-efficiency of the PDS technical stack.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster close ties with the Search and Pricing/Promo squads to ensure a cohesive platform experience across the sub-domain.

What You’ll Bring

As a proven Engineering Leader, you will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in software development, with a track record of leading high-performing teams in a complex, data-heavy environment.

  • Domain Expertise: Experience with Product Information Management (PIM), Master Data Management (MDM), or Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms is highly advantageous
  • Technical Depth: A passionate engineer with strong computer science fundamentals and the ability to guide complex system designs involving data pipelines and high-availability APIs.
  • Platform Thinking: Demonstrated experience building services with a "platform-as-a-service" mindset—focusing on reusability, multi-tenancy, and scalability.
  • Tech Stack: Comfort with modern technologies; experience with .Net, Cloud Infrastructure (GCP/Azure), GraphQL and Kubernetes is essential.
  • Leadership Maturity: Proven ability to improve team health (VoT), mentor senior talent, and navigate technical transitions (like cloud migrations or platform replacements).
  • Agile & DevOps: Expert understanding of the SDLC, automated testing, and a "You Build It, You Run It" operational philosophy.
  • Innovation: A curious mindset with an interest in AI-assisted development and how emerging tech can improve engineering productivity and data quality.
