What you'll do | Hei mahi

We're looking for an Energy Optimisation Analyst to join our Woolworths 360 team in Auckland. Reporting to the Energy Operations and Innovation Manager, you will be a technical and analytical engine driving our Sustainability Strategy toward a 63% reduction in emissions by 2030.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and deliver energy efficiency capital initiatives, primarily focusing on the optimisation of HVAC and refrigeration systems across our stores and distribution centres.
  • Develop and refine data analytics tools to maximize energy efficiency opportunities and track the successful realisation of project benefits.
  • Interpret complex asset data flows to measure energy performance, identifying exceptions for corrective action and lifecycle cost reductions.
  • Support project delivery from initiation to implementation, ensuring all initiatives meet world’s best practice and comply with safety and financial targets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing data-driven support to Facilities Management teams and managing partnerships with technical consultants and contractors.
  • Assess new industry technologies and strategies, making recommendations to enhance the energy performance of our operational assets.

To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive problem-solver who can translate technical data into actionable insights while navigating a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, controls automation, mechanical services, or a related trade discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field; experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, or Building Management Systems (BMS) is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in BI, energy reporting, or statistical tools to examine information and provide deep insights.
  • Project management capability, specifically in documenting and implementing technical capital initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to challenge ideas, embrace change, and present complex technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, including Google Workplace and project management software like Asana or Miro.
