What you'll do:
Woolworths New Zealand is seeking an Employment Relations Specialist to provide vital support and high-quality advice to our people leaders, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risks across all divisions.
In this dynamic, Auckland-based role, you will have the opportunity to manage diverse employment relation case portfolios end to end and coach business leaders.
- Manage end-to-end ER cases across all Woolworths NZ business divisions.
- Coach and support people leaders to deliver exceptional service, resolve enquiries efficiently, and ensure full compliance with current New Zealand legislation.
- Maintain high data integrity within internal case management systems to generate accurate insights and drive reporting updates.
- Provide expert ER advice by staying ahead of internal policies, external employment legislation, and emerging market trends.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the People team to effectively execute policy updates and share knowledge across the business.
- Support leadership on complex matters, assisting the ER Lead and Business Partners.
What you'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in general human resources or employment relations roles, backed by a solid understanding of employment laws and industrial relations issues.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build trust and open rapport
- Sound judgement and commercial awareness, with a sharp attention to detail and a proven track record of managing workplace compliance.
- A compassionate, empathetic approach when managing sensitive complaints, investigations, and workplace issues.
- A commitment to inclusivity, taking accountability for actively contributing to an accessible and welcoming work environment.
