The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a 6-month FTC opportunity. In this key commercial role you will be supporting the Buying and Merchandising teams across assigned portfolios. You will take ownership of the financial analysis for your assigned portfolios and act as a proactive partner to the commercial business.

- Supporting the Commercial team to accurately forecast future Sales and GP for weekly outlooks, monthly forecast, AOP and strategic planning purposes.
- Partnering with the commercial, pricing and strategy team to build and implement strategic initiatives that drive market share and profit.
- Identifying promotional investment risks and ensuring they’re managed and captured in the forecast result. This includes involvement in higher risk forecast planning (e.g Xmas/Easter) and ensuring end to end alignment.
- Conduct analysis on promotional effectiveness, excess stocks and project related work on CAPEX, investment buys and forward purchases. Partnering with stakeholders to develop workable action plans in relation to adverse trends.
What you'll bring
- CA/CPA qualification.
- Proven business partnering skills with a strong desire to add commercial value through analysis and problem solving skills. Ideally, you will have had FMCG experience and supported sales teams.
- Understanding of category management principles, pricing strategy and promo planning and effectiveness. Experience in managing retail scan, promo funding and coop claims.
- Ability to deal with multi-dimensional and large amounts of data, conduct analysis and provide recommendations.
- Able to communicate complex financial information in a simple and relevant manner across a wide range of audience. Strong presentation and storyboarding skills, with the ability to converse complex information with a wide range of finance and non finance stakeholders.
- Advanced experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, SAP, and GCP.
- A track record of identifying financial gaps and suggesting practical solutions.
- Ability to prioritise team efforts to support business requirements.
What you’ll experience
- A commitment to flexibility through a hybrid working model which combines time spent at a support office or hub and time working from home, supporting both in-person connection and balancing the flexibility that remote working provides for our teams.
- High-impact role supporting our teams who enrich our communities.
- A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
- A range of programs to help you prioritise and manage your wellbeing, including 24/7 access to the Sonder app.
- A progressive and competitive leave policy that gives you more space for what matters to you.
- Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
