What you’ll do | Hei mahi

As the Business Analyst for Property NZ, you will play an important role supporting the delivery of the overall Property Finance strategy within Woolworths New Zealand. Reporting to the Finance Manager - Property, the Business Analyst position will work across all aspects of the Property Finance teams, providing timely and accurate information, creation of new reports and insights as required as well as adding value and efficiency through the enhancement and standardisation of existing reporting. 

This role will gain broad exposure to the Property & W360 areas of the WWNZ business. You will be curious and driven to expand your knowledge of the core mechanics and operating rhythm of of these areas. This position offers a direct opportunity to impact the quality of strategic decision-making through meticulous, insightful, and timely financial analysis. You are a highly collaborative team player, and meticulous in your attention to detail. You will be skilled in financial modeling and passionate about driving efficiency through automation and standardisation

  • Financial Modeling: Develop complex financial models and data-driven insights to support business cases and Property Committee Meeting (PCM) submissions.
  • Capital Strategy & Planning: Partner with property teams to align development and operational capital forecasts with long-term business goals.
  • Asset & Disposal Support: Provide dedicated forecasting support for asset disposals and monitor the ongoing financial health of asset management portfolios.
  • Performance Integration: Collaborate with Finance Managers to synchronise property trading performance with broader month-end and mid-month business forecasts.
  • Reporting Optimisation: Own and enhance financial reporting suites using SQL and advanced Excel to simplify complex data queries and improve accuracy.
  • Cost Centre Management: Manage Support Office financials, including month-end journal entries, budgeting tool updates, and the production of monthly scorecards.


What you’ll bring | Hei koha

  • University qualified, Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance. Progressing towards CA Qualification or similar 
  • Experience within FMCG/Large Corporate is an advantage, but not essential
  • System Savvy, intermediate Google Sheets/Excel Skills and knowledge in SAP and familiarity with SQL / Google environment is a plus 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.  
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities effectively 
  • A team player with curiosity and drive for efficiency.
