What you’ll do | Hei mahi

As a trusted business partner to our Commercial Fresh leaders, your day-to-day will involve:

  • Driving Performance: Leading the timely and accurate weekly and monthly management reporting for the Trading Department, identifying key trends, variances, and performance drivers.

  • Strategic Insights: Translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations to optimise commercial outcomes, proactively spotting both risks and opportunities.

  • Forecasting & Planning: Partnering with the Buying teams to prepare regular and annual Sales and Gross Profit forecasts, as well as tracking key profitability indicators.

  • Relationship Management: Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager in tracking financial relationships, analyzing contractual terms, and monitoring the financial performance of key partners, including Hilton Foods.

  • Business Partnering: Acting as a trusted advisor to the CPR team, providing sound guidance on financial results, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance our overall reporting capabilities.

  • Leadership & Coaching: Mentoring staff and providing training to business teams to lift their understanding of key profitability levers.

To be successful in this role, you will be a collaborative and commercially minded finance professional with a knack for storytelling through data. You will bring:

  • Qualifications: A finance-related degree paired with a professional accounting qualification.

  • Experience: Proven experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and deep commercial analysis.

  • Business Partnering: A highly collaborative approach with a track record of building strong relationships and facilitating win-win outcomes with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to "storyboard" financial information simply and effectively to influence senior audiences and gain buy-in.

  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to scan both internal and external environments, generate insights from complex data, and recommend optimal courses of action for short- and long-term growth.
