The Opportunity

We are seeking a team member with an internal audit background to join the Woolworths Internal Audit (IA) team as an Audit Manager (Group Support Services) on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be part of the Internal Audit Management team and will support the delivery of the annual IA plan through providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value to the organisation's operations. This role will also be focused on bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate the design and effectiveness of operational controls, risk management and governance processes.

What you’ll do

  • End-to-End Audit Delivery: Support the development and execution of corporate audits (including Finance, Payroll, and Procurement) in alignment with IIA’s IPPF standards.
  • Risk & Control Evaluation: Identify risks and execute rigorous testing to evaluate governance and control frameworks, ensuring recommendations are balanced and risk-based.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the senior leadership team and stakeholders to support strategy development and present key review outcomes.
  • Workflow Management: Coordinate and drive multiple simultaneous reviews, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality reporting without compromising detail.
  • Team Mentorship: Coach and support team members to foster a culture of excellence and promote Internal Audit as a "trusted advisor" to the business.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively follow up on audit actions and contribute to the continuous improvement of Internal Audit tools, processes, and special projects.


What you’ll bring

  • 6+ years of Internal Audit or Risk Management experience in at least one of the following industries: FMCG, Retail, Logistics, Supply Chain, Professional Services, Ecommerce, Sustainability, Procurement
  • CA/CPA/CIA qualified
  • Extensive audit experience in designing, implementing and executing corporate assurance programs in a complex environment similar to Woolworths
  • Familiarity or prior experience with SOX audits is advantageous
  • External audit and financial accounting experience and a comprehensive understanding of internal controls over key financial processes
  • Ability to manage conflict and demonstrate resilience in challenging situations
  • Previous experience in managing and coaching teams, thriving on problem solving through utilising different techniques
