Woolworths Property is accountable for all property undertakings of the Woolworths Group and provides comprehensive, proactive property solutions to support the existing retail businesses and their future growth.
What you’ll do:
Join Australia’s largest retailer as our Assistant Development Manager as we continue to innovate and shape the future of retail.Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, you’ll work closely with internal teams including the Leasehold Portfolio team to create and deliver several new and innovative retail projects across Melbourne and the greater VIC region.
Work with a range of internal teams to develop and implement strategies to deliver a network plan, including sourcing retail development sites through varied acquisition strategies, for future activity that supports the growth of the business;
Achieve internal business and authority approvals for projects, ensuring to maximise the amenity and financial outcome for Woolworths and satisfy long-term community outcomes;
Manage a team of consultants to deliver projects that meet or exceed time, cost and quality benchmarks;
Provide accurate reporting (Monthly to Bi-monthly) on developments and property strategies; and
Take a visionary & strategic approach to planning of retail centres developments.
What you’ll bring
You are passionate about retail development and can demonstrate a level of experience in a similar field coupled with design coordination and planning approval experience in retail and/or mixed-use (commercial or residential) developments. You’ll join the team with experience in guiding a consultant team to deliver, lease and open retail and/or mixed-use centres.
Broad knowledge of property economics, legislation and valuation.
Strong capabilities in project delivery, management, and planning, including consultant team leadership.
Ability and experience to liaise effectively with local government and authorities.
Strong commercial acumen combined with an understanding and experience with financial modelling.
You are a natural communicator with strong negotiation skills.
Strong project delivery ability combined with project management and project planning capabilities.
