As one of the largest Finance functions in Corporate Australia we provide opportunities across Corporate Finance, Shared Services, Commercial Finance, Capital Management, Financial Control, Operations Finance, Project Finance, M&A and Strategy and Planning.

The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our Finance Shared Service team on a full time, permanent basis reporting into the Senior Accountant.
We are open to this role being based out of our Support offices in Adelaide or Sydney and we offer hybrid working.
What you’ll do
- Partner with external and internal stakeholders and responding to ad hoc enquiries relating to lease accounting and finance
- Maintain accurate lease and financial data within PEPS+ (internal lease management system) and SAP
- Assist, process and oversee occupancy payments ensuring compliance with Woolworths interpretation of the lease
- Manage lease accruals and mitigate financial risks
- Ensure reconciliations are prepared effectively and provide a clear description of outstanding items, have appropriate supporting documentation, provide a conclusion and an action plan for clearance
- Support balance sheet reconciliation investigations
- Contribute insights into occupancy cost and IFRS16 lease accounting standards with documentation and policy updates
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to add value for our customers
- Provide support in related Annual Operating Plans for both Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
What you’ll bring
- 1-3 years post qualification experience
- Finance or related degree with CA/CPA qualification preferred (or working towards)
- Keen eye for opportunities to continuously improve systems and process and proactive nature to drive solutions
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Ability to navigate within a matrix-style environment whilst prioritising competing deadlines and stakeholders
- Genuine interest and ideally some experience with retail / landlord lease management environment and IFRS16 lease accounting standards
- Enthusiasm, excellent oral and written communication and ability to problem solve independently
