What you’ll do
We are a leading retail media company specialising in data-driven advertising solutions. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our data platform team. You will develop, scale, secure and govern our data platform, infrastructure, integrations, pipelines, core data models, security and the leverage of this data for business intelligence. It will also play a key role in the enablement of our data products and supporting infrastructure.
- Tech Platform Strategy & Vision: Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for our core data platform and BI capabilities, ensuring its long-term scalability, security, and reliability.
- Engineering & Governance: Lead the engineering of our data infrastructure, including integrations, pipelines, and core data models. You will establish and maintain high standards for security, governance, and operational excellence.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration & Enablement: Partner closely with Technology, Product, Business leaders and other cross-functional teams to provide the foundational technology and support required to deliver high-quality data products and business intelligence solutions.
What you’ll bring
You are an experienced data leader having mentored and developed data engineering and operations teams through complexities of data streaming and its infrastructure. A broad knowledge of Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Relational/Dimensional data modelling, DW design, ETL solutions development in full cycle development projects
- Expert in SQL, database design, development, modelling and optimisation in Cloud Databases (e.g. BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake etc).
- Strong knowledge of automating data pipelines and transformations in GCP ideally.
- Experience with data ingestion and/or data integration tools (e.g. Fivetran)
- Knowledge of data integration patterns within GCP including tools like Composer and DBT.
- Expertise in data testing, data governance best practices and data security fundamentals.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python or JVM languages like Java, Scala.
- Agile delivery experience (including Scrum & Kanban).
- Demonstrated experience leveraging Github or similar and CI/CD pipelines.
