What you'll do

The Head of Technology - Compliance, Controls & Assurance at Woolworths Group provides strategic direction and oversight for technology compliance, cyber risk, governance, and assurance. This involves designing frameworks to measure compliance with cyber standards, engaging stakeholders for ongoing governance, and leading audit and penetration testing. The role also focuses on building relationships with application domains to manage technology control risks, educating teams on cyber security, and prioritizing remediation plans. Additionally, this position develops security policies and ensures PCI and SOCI compliance.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop, maintain, and govern the Group's technology compliance and cyber governance frameworks, including security policies and standards.

  • Provide strategic direction and expert advice on implementing effective security controls and addressing non-compliance issues.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the Group's risk posture by identifying, articulating, reporting on and prioritising key technology and cyber risks.

  • Provide assurance on operational control effectiveness and lead audit facilitation for internal and external reviews.

  • Lead technology compliance programs, ensuring PCI DSS certification and SOCI Act compliance reporting, and oversee changes to policies and standards.


What you'll bring

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a similar capacity, including Executive Leadership of large and diverse teams.

  • Strong enterprise experience in Retail, Risk, and Operations.

  • Proven experience in defining, implementing, and maintaining cyber governance, compliance, and assurance.

  • Desirable experience with regulatory regimes like PCI-DSS compliance and government requirements related to the SOCI Act.

  • Strong understanding and experience in information technology, controls testing, and cyber security, with the ability to manage budgets effectively and drive business outcomes.
