What you’ll do | Hei mahi
We are looking for a Head of Facilities Management who is more than a facilities manager—you are a transformer, a strategist and a people-first leader.
This is a high-visibility, senior leadership role designed for someone who thrives on challenging the status quo. You will be responsible for bringing together a national, centralised team to build a "Customer 1st, Team 1st" culture, ensuring our physical environments are safe, efficient, and future-ready.
You will lead the strategic direction and operational management of FM activities across the country. Your goal is to move beyond traditional maintenance and transition into a service-led framework that aligns with our global Group standards while delivering local excellence.
Key Pillars of the Role:
Strategic Transformation: Identify and implement system improvements and process alignments to create a seamless, end-to-end FM service model.
Agile Leadership: Partner with the W360 Property team and Operations teams to execute a NZ Strategic Plan that responds effectively to a rapidly changing retail landscape.
People & Culture: Coach and develop a national team of Engineering and Facilities professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and psychological safety.
Operational Excellence: Oversee and develop systems and processes to address asset lifecycles, energy, waste and renewables, ensuring minimal disruption to sites and a world-class customer experience.
Commercial Stewardship: Manage the P&L, Capex and Opex with a sharp eye for cost-benefit analysis and long-term value creation.
What you will bring | Hei koha
You are a courageous leader who isn't afraid to ask "why?" and "how can we do this better?" You balance high-level commercial acumen with a genuine care for the well-being of your team and community.
Your Background:
The Experience: 10+ years in senior leadership, specifically driving transformation agendas and streamlining complex, disparate systems.
The Expertise: Proven success in matrix structures and managing geographically dispersed teams (Retail or FMCG experience is a major plus).
The Technical Edge: A solid understanding of NZ Standards, statutory compliance and ideally, exposure to essential services like refrigeration or electrical systems.
The Mindset: A "Customer 1st, Team 1st" advocate who listens, learns and acts with unwavering integrity.
