What will I be doing?
This role will see you leading the technology function for Wpay. WPay is the payments platform business providing payments services to the Group and external clients. You'll be responsible for setting the strategic technical direction, providing leadership in the deployment of future payment technologies as well as enhancements to the existing solutions within Wpay. This includes payment switching and processing, digital payments, in-store payments, payment issuing solutions, merchant management solutions, pay outs & billing, and data platforms (including analytics, business intelligence) and support and technical operations.
You will lead and manage the creation or review of a technology strategy that meets the requirements of Wpay, and develop, communicate, implement and review the processes which drive strategic outcomes for Wpay including the core operational management of managing payments technology assets.
Be a key part of the Wpay business ensuring that their technology requirements are met including providing technology thought leadership and payments industry-leading practices
Works alongside Wpay leadership team to enable Wpay strategy, delivering solutions and software life cycle working practices to achieve growth in the Wpay business and keep it running 24x7x365
Responsible for the design, implementation and execution of the long-term payments technology strategies and accountable for the execution of short-term tactical initiatives in support of the overall Wpay vision
Establish and deliver a fit-for-purpose support, technology operations and service delivery covering external and internal clients that effectively delivers a stable service, meeting Wpay (Payments industry) service level expectations
Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technology products, changes and enhancements
Works with the rest of the Wpay leadership team to manage and develop internal and external supplier relationships to ensure high performance, competitive pricing and resource efficiencies and establish and develop long-term supplier relationships. Actively manage the performance of vendor partners
Identify, assess, classify and mitigate risk in line with Wpay risk culture and parameters.
Improve the efficiency of the business area over time
Planning, budgeting and forecasting for the technology resources within Wpay
Cultivate and maintain a high-performance team to deliver solutions that meet the needs of the merchant customers and Wpay, including partnering with HR for talent management. Plays an active role in formal HR processes such as recruitment, reward, promotion and disciplinary procedures.

Proven results on defining and achieving functional strategy
Extensive experience running and supporting 24/7, highly available mission critical systems
Vendor engagement experience (both software vendor and professional services providers)
