About the role
Opportunity for a Finance Manager to become a valued member of our National Operations team.
Reporting to the Head of Finance - National and Forecasting, this position will lead the finance function for National Operations, serving as a critical leadership and central finance role within Operations. Responsibilities include providing support to state teams, collaborating closely with FP&A, directing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process, and supporting National Operations teams. This role entails leading and fostering a high-performing team, as well as managing multiple strategic internal business partnerships within the supermarket operations teams, including the Director of Store Enablement and the Senior Executive Team (SET)
What you will do
- Deliver insightful analysis and commercial recommendations and regular business performance reviews
- Lead and close the AOP, including distribution of store budgets.
- Ensure long term financial targets have relevant and sound strategic thinking and strong business cases
- Responsible for collation and interrogation of sales, expenses and capital to forecast
- Working closely with FP&A team to close the month end, Exco and half yearly requirements
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to the finance team
What you'll bring
- Proven experience managing a multi-functional team
- CA/CPA qualification with at least 5 to 10 years post qualification experience
- Advanced people coaching/mentoring and development skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; make the complex simple
- Ability to have an end to end view on situations and use judgement for sound decision making
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong understanding of store operations or a strong interest in this area
- Strategic and commercial thinking
- Advanced organisation and prioritisation skills
