The Opportunity
The Business Analyst will provide support to the Finance Manager National Operations and Store Operations Senior Business Analysts across a broad range of workstreams, including annual budgeting and monthly reporting, while partnering closely with the Store Operations team to manage store wages and stock loss performance.

This position allows for impactful contributions, directly influencing and supporting the broader BIG W Finance strategy. The combination of substantial responsibility and a wide range of tasks within a focused team environment, creates an opportunity for meaningful professional development and a direct impact on the company's financial success.


What you’ll do

  • Support the Store Operations Finance Team through the Annual Operating Plan process, including through store budget builds, regional overheads, and other cost lines as necessary
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager National Operations, Store Operations Senior Business Analysts, and;
  • the Workforce Planning team to manage store wages
  • the Store Enablement team to manage stock loss and understand inventory levels
  • Support the Store Operations team with Labour Productivity and Stock Loss improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with the FP&A team to close month end results and prepare forecasts
  • Support month end processes, including performance reporting and analysis, and national cost centre management
  • Ensure store reporting and scorecards are accurate and distributed on time


What you’ll bring

  • You are currently an Analyst seeking the next opportunity to develop your career by working in a cross functional team
  • Finance or related degree with CA / CPA qualification preferred (or working towards)
  • A team player, keen to learn from others, and contribute to a high performing team
  • Agile and growth mindset
  • Strong data analysis and modelling skills
  • Experience using financial systems, including SAP and GCP
