The Opportunity
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our protein commercial finance team, based at Norwest. You will be responsible for business partnering with key commercial stakeholders within the merchandising team in providing analysis and insights to drive successful business decisions. This role will also gain key exposure to the end-to-end Supply Chain for our Meat business.

What you’ll do
- Analyze Meat Financial Performance: Conduct regular analysis (weekly, monthly, quarterly) of financial performance, focusing on supply and demand market drivers.
- Provide Insightful Commentary: Collaborate with Category and Merchandise Managers to deliver clear commentary on key performance drivers and trends.
- Support Sales and GP Forecasting: Assist the Commercial team in accurate forecasting for weekly outlooks, budgets, and strategic planning, including high-risk periods like Christmas.
- Manage Promotional Risks: Identify and manage promotional investment risks, ensuring they are reflected in forecasts.
- Develop Action Plans and Strategic Initiatives: Partner with stakeholders to create action plans for adverse trends and implement strategic capital, pricing, and market share initiatives.
- Drive Financial Transformation: Champion improvement and finance transformation goals by leveraging data and technology.
What you’ll bring
- Proven business partnering skills with a strong desire to add commercial value through analysis and insight
- Commitment to Woolworths ways of working, finance strategy and vision
- Three years experience in a financial role (strong commercial analytical experience preferred).
- Advanced systems SAP, Excel, WBI, Google applications including GCP
- Flexible approach to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced environment
- High level of curiosity.
