The Opportunity


The Business Analyst- Group Capital Planning & FP&A is responsible for providing support to Capital Finance and BU FP&A Teams as part of a larger Group FP&A team within Woolworths Limited that aims to ensure that capital financial transactions and analysis are completed to the highest level and work to streamline solutions for internal customers.


What you will do       


Capital Planning & Group FP&A:        

  • Production of monthly Capital Management, Trade Working Capital & Productivity reports - Month end process, Variance Packs, CFO reporting, Monthly Catch ups
  • Provide Business support to key partners to provide guidance across project maintenance, forecasting, budgeting and adherence to Corporate policy  
  • Provide training for the Business in respect of running SAP reports; actuals/commitments and knowledge/functionality of Capital Projects and EA Portal 
  • Providing half yearly and full year capital data to external reporting   
  • Assist with implementation and management of PIR process for completed project
  • Assisting facilitate the Group Quarterly Investment Cycle, driving clarity and agile prioritisation of the Group’s investments  
  • Supporting the business for all capital projects providing accurate and timely reporting for decision making and drive corporate governance and effective spend across the Group        
  • Work closely with business unit teams in continuously improving capex forecasting, working capital and productivity understanding value delivered, commitments to be made and accountability of spend and benefits               

Insights & Other:        

  • Assist in delivering insightful analysis and recommendations for the Group’s capital management decisions, including analysis of mid-long term financial impacts 
  • In partnership with business units and within own team , drive accountability for benefit realisation relating to key strategic investments.   
  • Develop sound working relationships across business to maintain engagement
  • Work across Finance to implement best practices and improved ways of working, systems and process        


What you'll bring


  • Finance related degree, and working towards or willingness to undertake a Professional Qualification (CPA/CA or equivalent)
  • Self motivated, proactive and passionate to drive results
  • Commercial, analytical and high levels of attention to detail
  • Accountable for on time delivery of core deliverables
  • Willingness to develop presentation and storytelling skills
  • Ability to develop relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders with diverse perspectives and experiences.
