The Opportunity 
The Pricing & Customer Value team business partners within the Buying division of Supermarkets, Woolworths Food Company, Finance, Marketing and Strategy teams. As a team, we support the optimisation of pricing opportunities for the Woolworths Supermarkets division with a strong focus on building continued price trust with our customers and maintaining Woolworths’ competitiveness in the market.

What You’ll do
As a Senior Pricing Strategy Analyst, you will support the development and execution of pricing strategy through rigorous analysis, commercial insight and strong stakeholder partnership. You will play a critical role in shaping recommendations and enabling informed decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Support Pricing Strategy Development

  • Provide analytical and commercial input into pricing initiatives

  • Build robust financial models and scenario analysis to inform trade-offs

  • Contribute to the refinement of pricing frameworks and guardrails

2. Deliver Market & Competitor Insights

  • Monitor competitor pricing, category movements and broader market trends

  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities and translate them into clear implications

  • Support regular reporting and insight packs for leadership forums

3. Assess Performance & Identify Opportunities

  • Analyse the impact of pricing initiatives on sales, margin and customer metrics

  • Highlight performance drivers and areas for optimisation

  • Provide data-led recommendations to improve outcomes

4. Build Strategic Narratives & Executive Materials

  • Develop clear, insight-led slide packs for leadership forums and decision-making meetings

  • Translate complex analysis into concise, compelling narratives

  • Structure presentations that articulate the “so what” and recommended action

5. Partner across the Business

  • Work closely with Buying, Finance, Strategy and Marketing teams to provide pricing insights

  • Contribute to stakeholder discussions with structured analysis and clear storytelling

  • Support alignment on key pricing decisions through evidence-based recommendations


What You’ll Bring
You are commercially curious, analytically rigorous, and comfortable operating in ambiguity. You think beyond the numbers and understand how pricing shapes brand, perception and long-term performance.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial, Strategy or Consulting (retail or FMCG experience preferred)

  • Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing dynamics, sales drivers and profitability levers

  • Advanced analytical capability (Excel/Google Sheets essential; SQL advantageous)

  • Ability to synthesise complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations

  • Strong slide-building skills, with experience developing executive-ready presentations

  • Clear and structured storytelling capability - able to translate numbers into a compelling commercial narrative

  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders and contributing to strategic discussions

  • Strong organisation skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
