What you’ll do:
As Senior Manager Brand & Marketing Strategy, you will be the go-to expert for brand and marketing strategy, architecture, and positioning for the Woolworths Group, but particularly Woolworths Australia (WW Food).
Your role is to champion customer-centricity by translating customer insights into strategic decisions that deliver outstanding customer value and strong commercial outcomes. This effort is designed to fuel brand growth, reinforce our brand pillars and proof points, and significantly enhance the overall brand experience. Ultimately, you will drive sustained growth across the Group through the development of more integrated and effective marketing plans that align with the overarching Customer Plan.
You will be part of the Brand team within CustomerX and report to the Head of Brand Strategy. Your central role will be to leverage existing customer data to extract key customer insights. You will use these insights to:
Align and Facilitate: Bring relevant business areas together, ensure alignment on objectives, and facilitate effective problem-solving.
Plan and Execute: Craft high-impact plans to ensure marketing campaigns meet both customer and business objectives.
Translate and Guide: Translate the customer plan into meaningful customer moments, ensuring alignment with the brand strategy.
Ensure Excellence: Oversee a carefully managed process to guarantee best-in-class brief writing and agency delivery against core KPIs, ultimately delivering creative excellence.
This is a 12 month maternity cover role.
What you’ll bring:
Strategic Leadership: 10+ years of experience in brand and marketing strategy, primarily within corporate environments, with a proven ability to lead and coach high-performing teams.
Integrated Campaign Management: Extensive background in planning and orchestrating complex, integrated marketing campaigns within a commercial or grocery retail landscape.
Data-Driven Insights: Expert in leveraging qualitative and quantitative research to translate customer data into actionable business outcomes.
Operational Clarity: A unique ability to distill complex information into clear, logical frameworks and set measurable brand KPIs.
Agency & Stakeholder Fluency: Strong stakeholder negotiation skills and a solid understanding of the creative agency environment (3–5 years preferred).
Capacity Building: A collaborative leader focused on empowering others, building internal capabilities, and managing cross-functional relationships.
