What you’ll do

This role involves the development and maintenance of features within our .NET Core and React (SSR via Next.JS) stack. You'll be working in a modern, event-driven environment with intricate systems and numerous interconnected components. While the primary focus is on our current platform, occasional support for a limited number of older ASP.NET MVC services may be required.


You will be responsible to:

  • Design & Build at Scale: Work closely with senior engineers and the tech lead to design, build, and evolve our serverless, event-driven systems.
  • Own It End-to-End: Execute independently without continuous managerial oversight. You will translate functional requirements into maintainable code and handle complex edge cases independently.
  • Applied AI Integration: Help automate manual processes by integrating AI/LLM & ML.NET models to handle our highly sophisticated product import and enrichment routines. (You don't need to be an ML engineer, but a keen interest in prompt engineering and LLM platforms is key! )
  • Polyglot Persistence: Work with large datasets and pick the absolute best database for the job across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MSSQL.
  • Operational Health: Participate deeply in operational health, taking responsibility for resolving production issues and occasionally supporting older ASP.NET MVC services.


What you’ll bring

More than any specific tool, we are hiring for adaptability, a desire to learn, technical excellence and attention to detail, and a drive to make an impact. We highly value candidates who have thrived in smaller scale-ups or lean teams where end-to-end ownership is a survival requirement.


Core Foundations:

  • Typically 2-5 years of experience as a highly proficient workhorse of a team.
  • Strong experience with the .NET stack, especially C#, ASP.NET Core, building REST APIs, and working with Entity Framework Core.
  • A track record of making smart trade-offs, consistently choosing solutions that deliver optimal business impact for the effort invested.
  • The ability to write clean, testable code to the point that you build implicit trust with your code reviewers.
  • You must comfortably navigate moderate ambiguity, taking slightly vague requirements and driving them to completion.


Bonus Points (Or what you will learn with us!):

  • Experience with ML.NET or Python is a huge plus!
  • Exposure to LLM platforms, prompt engineering, machine learning model training concepts, Vector DBs, and large datasets.
  • Front-end experience, ideally with React in production environments and SSR via Next.JS.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (ECS, SageMaker, SQS, SNS, DocumentDB).
