What you’ll do 

You will be a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned business units, and work closely with the Business units to understand their strategy and align Privacy and Customer Trust priorities to assist with the Business units' compliance with the Group Privacy Program.


As you develop your understanding of the Business unit strategy and priorities you will provide practical solutions to the Business units to meet their business priorities, within risk appetite and compliance with the Woolworth Group Privacy Program.


  • Conducting effective Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and supporting in complaint and incident management and training exercises.

  • Providing expert and in the moment guidance on privacy related obligations and other relevant considerations including during strategy / solution planning

  • Support the strategic direction for privacy uplift across the BU and the broader Group

  • Manage and work with a team to deliver key privacy capabilities to ensure privacy risks are effectively understood and managed responsibly 

  • Reporting and evaluation of key initiatives to enhance and drive continual improvement

  • Support the development of general and tailored training programs and their ongoing enhancement, and delivery of that training within the relevant BU

  • Stakeholder engagement within BU as well as more broadly across the Woolworths Group

  • Consultation and guidance to roll out key capabilities including training, change management activities, communications as they relate to particular programs of work across the BU (e.g. Privacy Impact Assessment, Privacy by Design, Woolworths Privacy Centre deliverables and other initiatives)


What you’ll bring

You are broad and curious thinker who excels in bringing value-add insights and perspectives   that enhance financial and operational performance of each business unit and Woolworths as a whole. Your exceptional stakeholder management skills will help you lead and sustain partnering relationships within your relevant BU / Domain, understanding how to bridge differences to enable cooperation at all levels.


  • 5- 10 years experience in  Privacy or closely related fields. 

  • You will be capable of identifying and driving commercial options which take into account multiple perspectives and scenarios. 

  • Your analytical skills should be sharp, with the ability to identify potential risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.

  • You intrinsically understand and will coach others on the value our team adds in driving the achievement of strategic business objectives.  

  • You will have a bias for action, moving beyond the theoretical application of privacy laws and compliance to actions which make a difference for our customers, our teams, and our communities.

  • Proficient knowledge of Privacy Act, Australian Privacy Principles, OAIC guidance

  • Experience in PIA methodologies and privacy by design.

  • A strong understanding of risk management and best practice approaches.
