The Opportunity
As the Platform Leader for Digital Experiences, you will act as the single point of accountability for integrating and elevating Cartology's retail media propositions across Woolworths Group's digital touchpoints. Leading a large, multi-disciplinary team, you will bridge the gap between commercial media ambitions and a customer-first digital strategy across web, mobile, and loyalty platforms. This high-impact senior leadership role empowers you to drive complex technology transformations, shape multi-year strategic roadmaps, and optimise platform architecture for maximum customer engagement and revenue enablement. It is a unique opportunity to spearhead innovation at the intersection of ad-tech and modern eCommerce within Australia's largest retail ecosystem.
What you'll do
Develop and own the multi-year strategic roadmap for Cartology's Digital Experience platform, ensuring ad-tech and targeted placements integrate seamlessly into native digital and eCommerce environments.
Partner with senior executive stakeholders across Cartology and W-Digital to align commercial media revenue goals with customer experience principles.
Lead and motivate a large, cross-functional engineering and product team, including software engineers, solution architects, and product managers, to deliver continuous platform enhancements.
Secure and manage multi-million dollar business cases, taking accountability for strategic technology investments and benefits realisation.
Drive the evolution of the technology team's operating and organisational model to ensure optimal engineering capabilities and agile processes are in place.
Mitigate project risks and facilitate critical trade-off decisions to ensure delivery teams achieve target outcomes without compromising platform security, resilience, or performance.
What you'll bring
Proven experience in senior digital engineering or platform leadership roles, successfully leading customer-facing technology teams of 50+ members.
Deep knowledge of the retail media industry, ad-tech integrations, digital loyalty programs, and modern web, mobile, and API service architectures.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills and political acumen, with a demonstrated ability to align diverse viewpoints across a federated corporate environment.
Strong technical credibility to confidently oversee a complex digital technology stack and actively engage in architecture and technical design discussions.
Resilient and adaptable mindset, thriving in high-ambiguity environments and achieving outcomes across the organization without relying solely on hierarchical authority.
Demonstrated capability to translate complex technical situations into commercial terms, while balancing media sales needs with a friction-free user experience.
