The Opportunity

The Business Analyst is a key commercial role supporting the Buying and Merchandising teams across Drinks and Snacking portfolios. This role forms part of the W-Retail commercial team and partners strongly with the Buying and Merchandise teams. 


What you’ll do

  • Financial Analysis: Lead the weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting for Drinks and Snacking, identifying key market drivers of supply and demand
  • Commercial Partnership: Collaborate with Category and Merchandise Managers to provide insightful commentary on performance trends and business drivers.
  • Integrated Forecasting: Support the Commercial team in delivering accurate Sales and GP targets for weekly outlooks, annual operating plans, and long-term strategy.
  • Strategic Growth: Partner with pricing and strategy teams to develop and execute initiatives that increase market share and profitability.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate promotional investment risks, with a focus on high-stakes seasonal planning (e.g., Christmas and Easter).
  • Performance Optimisation: Analyse promotional effectiveness and stock levels while developing actionable plans to address adverse commercial trends


What you’ll bring

  • Qualified CA/CPA with proven experience in commercial business partnering, driving value through strategic analysis and proactive problem-solving.
  • FMCG Industry Expertise: Background in multinational FMCG, specifically supporting sales teams within national retail environments
  • Trade & Revenue Management: Strong understanding of pricing strategies, promo planning, and effectiveness, including managing retail scan data, promo funding, and co-op claims.
  • Advanced Data Proficiency: Ability to manipulate large, multi-dimensional datasets to provide actionable recommendations using Excel, SAP, and GCP.
  • Strategic Communication: Skilled at storyboarding and translating complex financial data into simple, compelling narratives for both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to prioritize team efforts and resources to meet evolving business requirements in a fast-paced environment.
