Working Rights

What are the required documents to prove my right to work in New Zealand/Australia?

Everyone we hire must have the legal right to work with us in their location. This applies to all roles, whether they're short-term or permanent. So, if you're new to Woolworths Group, you’ll need to provide evidence of your employment eligibility. This is standard practice and a legal requirement in every country where we operate. Don't worry, it's a simple process! During your application, you'll be asked to select the type of document you'll be providing to verify your right to work. You will be required to provide one of the following documents:
Australian/New Zealand Passport Australian/New Zealand Birth Certificate + Photo ID Australian/New Zealand Citizenship Certificate + Photo ID International Passport
If you are not sure about your right to work in Australia or New Zealand, please visit the Department of Home Affairs website in Australia, or Immigration New Zealand.

What is the process for verifying my working rights?

We take your privacy very seriously. To comply with legal requirements in Australia and New Zealand, we need to verify the work eligibility of everyone we hire. This simply means we need to confirm you have the legal right to work in the country where your role is based. During your application, you'll be asked to provide evidence of your work eligibility. We use a trusted third-party provider to handle this verification, so you can be confident that your information is safe and secure. They have strict processes in place to protect your privacy and sensitive information. Once your eligibility is confirmed, we can move forward with your application!
